Feds Appeal Washington Law Granting Compensation to Ill Nuclear Workers

The Department of Justice is appealing a ruling which upheld a new Washington state law that helps ill workers at a nuclear reservation receive compensation. The state of Washington argued that workers at the Hanford nuclear reservation near Richland were eligible for compensation due to their exposure to harmful compounds and poor testing records. The federal government is fighting the new law which does not enforce a statute of limitations on worker claims.

Trucking Company Hit With Lawsuit Over Fatal I-90 Crash

An Illinois-based trucking company has been hit with a lawsuit over a crash on I-90. The lawsuit was filed by the family of a man from Rapid City, Iowa who was killed in a crash involving one of the defendant's drivers. The lawsuit alleges the crash that killed the victim took place after the truck driver over-corrected, causing his semi-truck to flip onto the road. The complaint accuses BDJ Trucking of wrongful death and negligence.
