Hundreds of People in Texas and Other States Were Abused at Boys & Girls Clubs | | Some 250 victims in 30 states, including Texas, say they were sexually abused as children by employees, volunteers and other members of Boys & Girls Clubs of America affiliates, a Hearst Newspapers investigation has found. Children as young as six were raped and sexually assaulted, court documents show. Some were molested during sleepovers or club trips. In some cases, the abuse continued for years. The molesters were coaches, club directors and volunteers, according to records of criminal convictions reviewed by Hearst. $700,000 Awarded to Black Student President Harassed by Neo-Nazi | | Over $700,000 has been awarded to a black woman who was harassed by a neo-Nazi organizer during her campaign for student president at American University. On Friday, a federal judge granted a default judgment in the lawsuit against the founder of the Daily Stormer website. The lawsuit alleged the defendant organized a harassment campaign against the plaintiff after she was elected. Female Truck Drivers Appeal Decision in Lawsuit Over Hostile Work Environment | | Three women who formerly worked as truck drivers are appealing a court decision in favor of their former employer. The women filed a notice of appeal in the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis over the decision in favor of CRST Expedited. The women alleged the company created a hostile working environment for female drivers. The lawsuit was originally filed as a class action complaint but was decertified by Chief Judge Leonard T. Doctors: Vaping Suspected in Dozens of Lung Illnesses | | As many as 50 people in at least six states have come down with breathing illnesses that may be linked to e-cigarettes or other vaping products. Some patients have likened onset of the illness to a heart attack, and others to the flu. Symptoms have included shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain and vomiting. Roofing Company Accused of Negligence After Worker Dies in Summer Heat | | A Missouri roofing business has been named in a lawsuit after a worker died in extreme heat. Weathercraft Inc. and its owner are named as defendants in the lawsuit alleging the worker died due to negligence. The man died in August 2016 while installing roofing materials on a school building. According to the man's family, who filed the lawsuit, his co-workers and supervisors failed to assist him when he became delirious and fainted.
