Morgan to pay three landowners more than $2.7 million to seize parts of their
properties for the companyâ??s proposed Permian Highway Pipeline as the dispute
over the Houston companyâ??s land-taking widens.

Sued Over Collection of User Biometric Data |

Facebook
will face a lawsuit alleging it illegally collected and stored biometric data
for millions of its users. On Thursday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals
in San Francisco decided 3-0 that Facebook violated user rights by storing the
data without their permission. The social media giant is currently involved in
a number of other legal battles and last month agreed to pay $5 billion to
settle a Federal Trade Commission data privacy probe.

Clovis
Library Shooting Survivors File Suit |

Survivors
of the deadly shooting rampage at the Clovis library have filed a lawsuit
against the shooterâ??s family, claiming they could have prevented the tragedy,
saying that the teenâ??s (Nathaniel Jouett) father made it too easy for him to
obtain a gun. The lawsuit also alleges Jouettâ??s psychologist should have done
more to warn people about the high schoolerâ??s behavior.

FAA
Bans Certain MacBook Pro Models Due to Recall |
|
The
Federal Aviation Administration has banned certain MacBook Pro laptops due to
a recall initiated in June. According to the FAA, "lithium batteries recalled
by the manufacturer/vendor must not be carried aboard aircraft or packed in
baggage unless the recalled product/component has been replaced or repaired or
otherwise made safe per manufacturer/vendor instructions." The laptops were
recalled by Apple due to the potential for batteries to overheat and pose a
fire safety risk.

Paid Contractors to Transcribe Audio Chats |

Facebook
Inc. has been paying hundreds of outside contractors to transcribe clips of
audio from users of its services, according to people with knowledge of the
work. Facebook confirmed that it had been transcribing usersâ?? audio and said
it will no longer do so, following scrutiny into other companies.
