A lawsuit against Twitter alleging that it gave a voice to the Islamic State has been dismissed by a federal judge. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge William H. Orrick in San Francisco ruled that the social media company could not be held responsible for the rhetoric of the Islamic State. The lawsuit was filed by the widow of an American killed in Jordan who alleged that Twitter "knowingly let the militant Islamist group use its network to spread propaganda, raise money and attract recruits." In his ruling, Judge Orrick gave the plaintiff an opportunity to file an amended complaint.
