A $20 million lawsuit has been filed by a group of Ferguson protesters who allege they were the victims of malicious prosecution. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Missouri on behalf of four people who were prosecuted following protests and civil unrest in the St. Louis suburb in 2014. According to the complaint, the plaintiffs' rights were violated when they were arrested and prosecuted without evidence. The plaintiffs were arrested days after the highly-publicized death of Michael Brown, a black teenager killed in August 2014 by a police officer.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Denver, alleges that company executives allowed the company to lose money by failing to prevent the restaurants from being contaminated. Chipotle restaurants were responsible for sickening customers across the country, an act that could have been prevented by quality-control and emergency-response measures, the lawsuit alleges.
