Her lawsuit accuses Adair Grain, Inc., of negligence in the operation of the facility, "creating an unreasonably dangerous condition, which led to the fire and explosion." The woman lived in an apartment next to the plant, and is seeking up to $1 million in relief. A second suit has also been filed by four insurance companies on behalf of local residents and businesses including a local car dealer.

Robert Pearl: Medical Conflicts of Interest Are Dangerous

spacer image

The federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently announced final regulations for the Physician Payment Sunshine Act, which requires pharmaceutical and medical-device companies to disclose payments they make to doctors, hospitals and other health-care providers.
