GM Car Owners to Fight On for Billions After Bankruptcy Ruling

General Motors Co. car owners will still seek $7.5 billion for the diminished value of recalled vehicles, despite a ruling that largely freed the automaker from liability for wrongdoing before its 2009 bankruptcy. That number was supplied by a lawyer for car owners the day after U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Gerber upheld GM's shield against claims tied to actions taken before its bailout.

Jameis Winston's Sexual Assault Accuser Names Him in Civil Suit

The woman who publicly accused Florida State football player Jameis Winston of sexual assault has filed a defamation lawsuit against the player. According to the lawsuit, filed Thursday in Florida, Winston intentionally inflicted emotional distress during the 2012 incident. The lawsuit further accuses the defendant of assault and false imprisonment and seeks damages in excess of $15,000. The plaintiff has also filed a lawsuit against Florida State University.

Nissan to Expand U.S. Recalls Tied to Takata Air-Bag Flaw

Nissan Motor Co. plans to expand a regional U.S. recall of cars with potentially defective Takata Corp. air bags after a woman said she was injured last month by shrapnel from the device in her 2006 Sentra sedan. The expansion will cover Sentras from the 2004 to 2006 model years that weren't part the earlier regional recall.
