Reverse Discrimination Suit Filed in Michigan

A white employee has filed suit against Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, claiming he was threatened with violence and discipline because of his race. In the suit, the plaintiff says one of his supervisors made derogatory and racist comments, as well as threats, toward him because he is white. The suit comes on the heels of several high-profile discrimination lawsuits filed by black nurses at the hospital.

Suit Filed in Fatal Texas Bus Crash

A Fort Worth, Texas, woman injured in a bus crash last week has filed suit against the bus driver and company that owns the bus, citing negligence. Police say the bus was headed for a casino in Oklahoma when it veered across the highway and flipped on its side; the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Two were killed in the crash and 41 more were injured. The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.

Woman's Death in Louisville Jail Prompts Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed against Metro Corrections in Louisville and the company that provides medical services for the jail over the death of a woman arrested last April. The victim, a heroin addict, died six days after being booked in the jail from opiate abuse and withdrawal; the suit accuses personnel at the prison were negligent in providing the proper care for the victim, which could have saved her life. The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.
