Raw Frozen Yellowfin Tuna Recalled |
| A California fish processing company has issued a recall of almost 59,000 pounds of frozen raw yellowfin tuna packaged as "Nakaochi Scrape" linked to a recent Salmonella outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control has reported 116 patients with Salmonella poisoning in recent months, with 81 percent of them reporting the consumption of raw fish before getting sick. Teacher Asked to Falsify Grade Records, Suit Says |
| A third whistleblower lawsuit has been filed against a chain of Florida charter schools, claiming the schools "falsifies enrollment records and fabricates student grades in classes the students did not take." According to the suit, filed by a former high school teacher, claimed administrators at one of the charter high schools asked the plaintiff to sign off on grading sheets from classes she was not teaching. Suit: Man Robbed Four Times at Hotel |
| A Tennessee man has filed a lawsuit against a Kansas-based hotel chain after he was robbed multiple times during a four-day stay at a Salt Lake City hotel. In the suit, the man claims he was robbed at gun point multiple times by the same individual, once being forced to walk to an ATM to withdraw cash. The man says he made hotel management aware of the individual after the first attack, but nothing was done to ensure he was not allowed back into the hotel or taken into custody. $32.4 Million Awarded to Woman in Insurance Suit |
| A 90-year-old Montana woman has been awarded $34.2 million in a lawsuit against her insurance company after the company ended her assisted living benefits. The insurance company stopped payments in 2010 because a doctor found the woman was no longer "severely" impaired, but the lawsuit argued the company misapplied the rules of her policy.
