Ohio State Patrol Settles Crash Lawsuit for $235K |
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has agreed to pay $235,000 to settle a lawsuit by two southwest Ohio brothers who were allegedly hit by a patrol car traveling at 95 miles per hour in April 2013. The lawsuit, filed by the two brothers, alleges that the patrol car was traveling close to 100 miles per hour without the use of sirens or lights and hit the brothers' car while they were making a left turn. One of the plaintiffs suffered scalp lacerations and spine and skull fractures, while the other plaintiff suffered a lacerated spleen and neck and back injuries as a result of the accident. Calif. Man Awarded $20M by Jury for Explosion |
A California man who was severely burned in a natural gas explosion three years ago has been awarded nearly $20 million in his lawsuit against Southern California Gas Co. and the owners of the home where he was injured. A Los Angeles Superior Court jury found in favor of the plaintiff after less than two days of deliberation. The jury found that the gas company was liable for $18 million of the damages to the plaintiff for his injuries during the explosion, with the rest of the award being paid by the owners of the home.
