The lawsuit, filed by the Boston-based Conservation Law Foundation, seeks $100 million in fines against the energy company. The complaint alleges that Exxon knew for years that climate change would cause an increased risk of flooding, heavy rains, and other forms of severe weather. Exxon has denied the lawsuit's claims and plans to fight the lawsuit.
