The problem is particularly acute in some federal courts such as California's and Texas's Eastern Districts. Judges there have workloads about twice the national average and say they are struggling to keep up. According to Food Poisoning Bulletin, these two of the restaurant's locations have been accused of causing illness in as many as 160 people in five states. Reports indicate that nine of the California cases of illness were caused by the same strain of salmonella as the D.C. cases. The restaurant is a New York-based chain. After the four-week trial, the cardiologist was found guilty of health-care fraud and 13 counts of making false statements relating to health-care matters.
