This lawsuit was filed by three employees of the plant, one of whom alleges that he suffers from severe anxiety attacks due to the explosion which killed one of his co-workers and seriously injured another. Filed in U.S. District Court in Gulfport, the complaint states that the defendant could have prevented the explosion. Omega Protein has faced a number of lawsuits over five deaths in the last few years at its facilities but has denied wrongdoing in the fatalities. The probe, initiated Sept. 28 by the NHTSAĆ¢??s Office of Defects Investigation, covers an estimated 155,000 model year 2012 Nissan Versas and stems from three complaints to the agency regarding the possible defect.
