A lawsuit filed Wednesday in Williamson Cnty against AcroTex Gym in Georgetown after a former employee pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a girl there in 2010. The parents of the girl didn't find out about the assault until years later. The suit alleges AcroTex Gymnastics was negligent and the employer should have done background checks on employees and should have trained its employees to recognize suspicious behaviors.

A Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday approved a $265 million settlement for all pending claims over the 2015 derailment of Amtrak train number 188 in Philadelphia, which caused eight deaths and more than 200 injuries. Amtrak has settled all pending claims over the 2015 derailment of train 188 in Philadelphia, which caused eight deaths and more than 200 injuries, for $265 million. U.S. District Judge Legrome Davis signed off on the settlement that was negotiated by the seven-attorney plaintiffs management committee and Amtrak, saying it was appropriate because of a $295 million cap on damages under federal law and the prospect for years of protracted litigation.

A New Jersey man has filed suit against BMW over a crash that left him blind in one eye. The lawsuit, filed by the 23-year-old man, alleges that he and his younger brother were both injured in a crash despite the fact that they were wearing their seat belts, due to the fact that the car's airbags did not deploy. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion, spine and skull fractures, complete blindness in his right eye and contusions when he crashed into a pole in September 2014. The lawsuit names as defendants BMW of North America, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Sussex County, the Township of Wantage, Jersey Central Power & Light and Ray Price Honda of East Stroudsburg, Pa.

Used Cars Slip Past Recall Safeguards, Putting Drivers in Danger

The Takata airbags defect claimed another life last month, a 50-year-old Riverside, Calif., woman whose 2001 Honda Civic had been sold three times at auto auctions. The death has highlighted a group of drivers especially vulnerable to dangerous vehicles: second, third or even fourth owners, who purchased their vehicles in transactions far removed from the protections offered to buyers of new cars.
