McQueary Files Lawsuit | | Former Penn State football assistant Mike McQueary has filed a lawsuit against the university, claiming he is being treated like a scapegoat in the Jerry Sandusky case and not a whistleblower. The suit, which seeks $4 million in damages, states that he has been "labeled and branded" as part of the cover-up efforts of the Penn State administration; in 2001, McQueary told then-head coach Joe Paterno that he saw Sandusky molesting a child in the locker room shower. Since the story broke, McQueary says he has suffered "distress, anxiety, humiliation and embarrassment because of what the lawsuit says is defamation and misrepresentation by the school." In 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed a class-action sexual discrimination suit against the retailer brought by 1.5 million female employees across the country.
