The Boy Scouts of America is facing another lawsuit by a man who alleges he was sexually assaulted as a boy. The lawsuit was filed by a Texas man who says he was sexually assaulted by two Boy Scout leaders back in the 1980s. The plaintiff filed suit after one of the men was charged in July 2014 for molesting boys in York County, Virginia. The plaintiff alleges in his $4 million lawsuit that he was sexually abused by the same leader during a 1982 camping trip on a U.S. Air Force base in Japan. In addition, the lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff was also molested by another Scout leader in the 1980s.

Blocked Overtime Rule Leaves Employers With Pay Dilemma
spacer image
A Texas federal judge's recent decision to block the U.S. Department of LaborĂ¢??s new white collar overtime rules has forced a difficult decision on employers who may have already announced or even implemented salary changes based on the regulations, offering them a chance to avoid those increases but not without threatening workplace morale. The DOL has not yet indicated whether it plans to seek immediate appeal of the injunction, saying in a statement it stands behind the rule and is considering all available options.

Jury Awards Wal-Mart Truck Drivers $55M in Backpay

A California federal jury on Wednesday handed down a $55 million verdict against Wal-Mart Stores Inc for failing to pay about 850 of its truck drivers all of the compensation to which they were entitled. The jury held that Wal-Mart owed the drivers backpay for conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, mandatory rest breaks and layovers between trips, but not for other tasks, such as fueling and washing trucks.

Side Effects From Antibiotics Land Children in ER
spacer image
Reactions from antibiotics are responsible for more than 65,000 children being rushed to ERs every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A new study out today from a team at the CDC shows specifically that allergic reactions to these powerful drugs are the top culprit. The review of nearly 6,000 medical records of children under the age of 19, published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that their most common reactions included skin rashes, hives, swelling of the mouth and throat, or difficulty breathing. Others had stomach cramping, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, headaches, and muscle weakness.
