An Austin woman has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city over the death of her husband, a Travis County Constable Corporal, during the wildfires in September 2011. The suit also names Austin Energy as a defendant, accusing the company of negligence in failing to maintain power lines in a neighborhood that may have caused the fire. The woman said she also hopes the suit will force the city to release official information on the cause of the fire, which is still unknown to the public over a year after the incident.
