Couple Faces Lawsuit Over Negative Yelp Review
spacer image
A couple from Colorado is facing a lawsuit by a flooring company after they left a negative Yelp review of the company following what they felt was a poor flooring job. Footprint Floors has filed suit against the couple alleging that they defamed the flooring company with their negative review. In the Yelp review, the couple claimed that the company left them with a staircase that did not meet code, mismatched floors and doors unable to open because of unleveled floors. The lawsuit alleges that the negative review cost the company 167 projects and $625,000 in revenue between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1, 2014.

Attorneys General File Suit Against Fake Cancer Charities

Attorneys general across the country have joined to file a lawsuit against four fake cancer charities. According to the lawsuit, the four charities scammed $187 million in donations by claiming that donations would support cancer patients. The lawsuit alleges that the companies claimed that the money would provide pain medication to children with cancer, help transport patients to chemotherapy appointments and pay for hospice care. However, most of the money went to the perpetrators and their families, the lawsuit contends. The lawsuit was filed by officials from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and the Federal Trade Commission.

Nearly 34 million cars and trucks nationwide were declared defective Tuesday because of deadly air bags made by auto-parts giant Takata, in what is expected to be the biggest recall of any consumer product in U.S. history. The expanded recall doubled the number of vehicles believed to have the air bags, which can blast out sharp metal shrapnel when deployed, a flaw that has been linked to six deaths and more than 100 injuries.
