Birth Brain Injury Lawsuit Ends in $23M Award to Girl's Family |
Over $23 million has been awarded to the family of a girl who suffered a brain injury when born at an Illinois hospital. The large sum was awarded to the family of the now-five-year-old girl who allegedly suffers continual health issues due to the brain damage she suffered during her birth at Palos Community Hospital. The Cook County Circuit Court judge on Monday ruled that the neonatologist who assisted in the girl's June 21, 2011, birth was negligent.
