Long Island Man Sues Zantac After Developing Bladder Cancer | | A man from Long Island, New York, has filed suit against the makers of Zantac, alleging he developed bladder cancer after taking the over-the-counter heartburn medication. The lawsuit filed April 21 in the Southern District of Florida alleges the manufacturers of the drug had known for decades that Zantac produced a toxic carcinogen when ingested, but did not disclose the risks to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or consumers. Former Michigan State Track Athlete Files Title IX Lawsuit Against School, NCAA | | A former Michigan State track athlete has filed a lawsuit against the university and the NCAA alleging she was discouraged from filing a report of her sexual assault. The then-freshman alleges she woke up to an unnamed male teammate sexually assaulting her in her dorm room in March 2017. She alleges the school violated Title IX by discouraging women from reporting sexual assaults perpetrated by athletes, thus creating an unsafe environment.
