Lawsuit:
School District Failed to Notify Family of Cheerleader's Concussion |

A
California school district has been named in a lawsuit over a cheerleader's
head injury. The lawsuit was filed by the mother of the student-athlete who
sustained a concussion. Sweetwater Union High School District officials are
accused in the complaint of failing to notify the girl's family of the
incident. The lawsuit also cites the district's "failure to implement basic
safety protocols...and its failure to enforce reasonable concussion protocols
breached their duty of care."

Facebook
is facing a lawsuit filed by a former MMA fighter who alleges he was kicked
off the social media platform for his anti-vaccine views. The plaintiff
alleges he was banned from the platform over posts in which he blamed vaccines
for his sonâ??s death. The lawsuit alleges Facebook violated the plaintiff's
right to free speech and is destroying his business, a gym in New
Jersey.

Maxwell Sues Epstein Estate for Legal Fees |

Ghislaine
Maxwell, the former girlfriend and longtime business associate of Jeffrey
Epstein, has filed a lawsuit seeking legal fees from his estate. The lawsuit
alleges Epstein promised to pay Maxwell's legal fees for any claims from women
who claim "she helped him recruit them to give him massages when they were
teenagers." Epstein was arrested last summer on sex trafficking charges and
died in prison. The lawsuit was filed in Superior Court in the U.S. Virgin
Islands, where Epstein's estate is being probated.

Astros Fire Back at Fans' Lawsuit Over Sign Stealing |
|
The
Houston Astros are firing back at fans who filed suit against the team over a
sign-stealing scandal. According to the team's attorneys, the fans have "no
legal standing" to recover damages. The fans filed suit against the team for
"deceptively overcharging" them after winning the 2017 World Series. The
baseball team is also facing a lawsuit filed by an opposing pitcher who claims
the Astros' cheating ruined his career.

PG&E
Pleads Guilty to 84 Counts of Involuntary Manslaughter |
|
In a
federal filing Monday permanently documenting its role in causing Californiaâ??s
deadliest wildfire, Pacific Gas & Electric announced it has pleaded guilty to
84 counts of involuntary manslaughter for the 2018 Camp fire in the Northern
California town of Paradise.
PG&E, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, said it reached
the settlement with the Butte County district attorneyâ??s office on March 17.
Under the deal, PG&E said prosecutors wonâ??t pursue further criminal charges,
an outcome that disappointed some utility watchdogs.

Warns Consumers Against At-Home Coronavirus Tests |
|
The Food
and Drug Administration is warning people to avoid any at-home tests for
coronavirus, saying it hasnâ??t authorized any tests to be self-administered by
consumers. The agency said it has begun to see â??unauthorized fraudulent test
kits that are being marketed to test for Covid-19 in the home,â?? and that
fraudulent tests pose serious health risks. The FDA warning, issued late last
week, put the brakes on plans by some companies to supply Covid-19 tests to
consumers.
