The Boy Scouts of America organization is facing a lawsuit alleging that it allowed the sexual abuse of a Georgia-based scout. The now-19-year-old boy alleges that the organization did nothing to prevent one leader from sexually abusing him. The sexual abuse was first discovered when the boy's mother found sexual text messages from the leader on the boy's cell phone when he was 12 years old. The leader was later convicted of sexually abusing the plaintiff and six other teens. The lawsuit names the Boy Scouts and the Coastal Georgia Council as defendants.
