Man Wins Nearly $2M in Racial Discrimination Suit Against Alaska Longline

A Hispanic man is expected to receive $1.8 million in a lawsuit alleging that he faced racial discrimination while working as a crew member on a fishing boat. The man filed suit against his employer, Seattle-based Alaska Longline, and alleged racial harassment and dangerous working conditions. The lawsuit alleged that the plaintiff and fellow crewmembers were called â??dirty Mexicansâ?? and other racial epithets by the former captain and first mate. The lawsuit was recently settled between the plaintiff and his former employer.

Walgreens Named in Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder Lawsuit

An Illinois woman has filed suit against Walgreens and Johnson & Johnson alleging that her use of talcum powder caused ovarian cancer. The lawsuit, filed by the Chicago woman, is among more than 1,000 talcum powder-related suits. Many of the lawsuits allege that users have contracted ovarian cancer as a result of using the products made by Johnson & Johnson. The plaintiff claims she regularly purchased Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower products from Walgreens between 1980 and 2006. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2015.

PayPal Accused of Rerouting Charitable Donations

PayPal is facing a lawsuit alleging that it has rerouted charitable donations by users. The federal class action lawsuit was filed on Tuesday and alleges that PayPal does not properly donate the money that users believe is going to charitable organizations. The lawsuit was filed by a woman who believed she was donating over $3,000 to 13 different organizations. She filed suit against the company after discovering that 10 of the 13 organizations had not received or been made aware of her donations.

12th Lawsuit Filed in Fatal Tennessee Bus Crash

The twelfth civil lawsuit has been filed related to a bus crash in Woodmore, Tennessee. This most recent lawsuit was filed in Circuit Court in connection with the deadly Woodmore Elementary bus accident. The November bus crash resulted in the deaths of six children. This lawsuit was filed by the mother of a six-year-old killed in the crash. The plaintiff alleges that she "is the only proper party to bring this cause of action for the wrongful death" of the boy.
