A civil lawsuit has been filed by the parents of a 22-month-old boy who was allegedly bitten 11 times during his first day at day care. The lawsuit was filed 24th Judicial District Court in Jefferson Parish on Saturday and contends that the plaintiff's son sustained a number of bites due to the day care owner's negligence. The marine services company co-owner was driving a pickup truck which crashed into the limousine and caused the deaths of four women. Last year, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the man by the family of an employee who died in January 2014 when a bucket attachment on a skid-steer loader fell and crushed him. After that incident, the defendant was fined $7,000 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for workplace violations.
