Injured in Houston Plant Explosion That Killed Two Files Suit |

A man
injured in the recent explosion at Watson Grinding & Manufacturing in Houston
has filed a lawsuit. The lawsuit states the plaintiff was driving to work and
approaching the facility when the blast threw his truck "like a ragdoll"
toward a nearby warehouse. He alleges he suffered serious injuries to his eye
and experienced trauma from seeing the death of a coworker. The lawsuit
alleges the company was negligent and grossly negligent for failing to
control, monitor and prevent the explosion. The explosion killed two people
and resulted in damages to hundreds of nearby homes.

Apartment Complex Contaminated with Bats, Alleges Lawsuit |

A
Houston-area apartment complex is infested with bats, says a recently filed
lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed against the complex owners by a woman who had
multiple bats in her apartment including an aggressive one that "swooped down
at her cat." The lawsuit seeks more than $1 million and may turn into a class
action suit. There are nearly 1,000 residents at the apartment complex. Due to
the health risks associated with bats and bat guano, the woman is undergoing
treatment by a doctor. Her pet cat is also in quarantine.

County,TCEQ Sue Watson Over Gessner Explosion |

Harris
County sued Watson Grinding and Manufacturing Thursday over last weekâ??s fatal
explosion in west Houston, asking a judge to keep the site shut down. The
county asked a judge to impose an immediate halt on all activity at the
company until the site and surrounding area are deemed safe from fires and
explosions. County officials also want a detailed inventory of materials on
the premises as well as all air, water and soil samples and studies. The Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality is also a party to the suit, as required
by law.

Gymnastics Offers $215M Settlement To Nassar Survivors |

Gymnastics is offering sexual abuse survivors $215 million to settle their
claims against the organization in the wake of the Larry Nassar scandal.The
offer is part of a bankruptcy exit plan filed by USA Gymnastics this week.
They said thatâ??s the amount that insurance carriers for it and the United
States Olympic and Paralympic Committee are willing to provide abused athletes
to end legal proceedings.

to Pay $32 Million in Texas Man's Lawsuit Over Telemarketing |
|
A Texas
man has won a $32 million settlement in his lawsuit against SiriusXM over
telemarketing calls. The plaintiff says he received frequent calls from the
company despite being on all "Do Not Call" lists. According to the lawsuit,
the plaintiff's phone would ring constantly, with "up to 25 phone calls a
day," even though he had never been a SiriusXM subscriber. The plaintiff will
receive $10,000, while the more than 400 other participants in the lawsuit
will get $42 dollars each and some will get three free months of radio
service.
