Is Lyft Really a Good-Guy? |
Dozens of women filed lawsuits against Lyft in recent months, claiming that they were sexually assaulted by the company s drivers. The women said Lyft did not do enough to keep them safe, and several said that when they reported the incidents, Lyft did little or nothing to make it right. The lawsuits are chipping away at the image of corporate responsibility that Lyft carefully cultivated as its larger rival, Uber, slogged through scandals in recent years. Some are questioning how deep those values and ethics go.

Brogdon: Liability When the Uber or Lyft Driver is an Outlaw |
Uber and Lyft want their passengers trust and money, but the companies want no legal accountability when one of their drivers rapes, robs or murders a passenger. Uber and Lyft certainly have the resources to protect their passengers from foreseeable harm at the hands of drivers. Uber and Lyft lack only the will. Author says that legislators have failed completely to summon the political courage to require Uber and Lyft to do what is necessary. All that remains to motivate Uber and Lyft is jurors doing what jurors do best holding Uber and Lyft accountable at the courthouse.
