Can Suffer Vicarious Trauma |
|
Jan
Newman, a psychologist and mindset coach in Charlotte, North Carolina, says
that vicarious trauma occurs when a professional experiences the signs and
symptoms that mimic post-traumatic stress disorder in connection with
traumatic material presented by the client. Newman says these signs and
symptoms can include intrusive or persistent negative thoughts, avoidance and
withdrawal, hyperarousal and hypervigilance, or sleep disturbance. Vicarious
trauma, along with other mental illnesses, needs to be discussed starting in
law school, and seeking help for these issues should be normalized.

Across the U.S. Sound the Alarm |

Pharmacists
across the U.S. warn that the push to do more with less has made medication
errors more likely. â??I am a danger to the public,â?? one wrote to a regulator.
In letters to state regulatory boards and in interviews with The New York
Times, many pharmacists at companies like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens
described understaffed and chaotic workplaces where they said it had become
difficult to perform their jobs safely, putting the public at risk of
medication errors.

E-Scooters Mean More Injuries - And Lawsuits |
|
With the
prevalence of e-scooters comes more head injuries - and more lawsuits. One
27-year-old Florida woman suffered a fractured skull after colliding with a
car at an intersection and now remains in a vegetative state. A lawsuit has
been filed on her behalf against Neutron Holdings, also known as Lime. Her
family is warning people about the dangers of riding e-scooters, and says that
the companies who rent them are not being clear about where to ride the
scooters.
