The lawsuit alleges that the makers of the "AquaRug" bath mat marketed the product as slip-proof, when in fact it was prone to slippage. According to the complaint, by the time the plaintiff ordered the bath mat from a home shopping network, the maker of the product was already facing a federal lawsuit. The plaintiff suffered a broken right leg, a surgical revision of her hip replacement, four weeks of assisted living care and physical therapy as a result of the fall, the lawsuit alleges. The incident took place one month after the plaintiff underwent a hip replacement surgery. The lawsuit was filed last month in U.S. District Court in South Dakota and seeks monetary damages for liability, negligence and breach of warranty.
