Contract Company Failed to Complete Jobs, Suit Says |
| Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has filed a lawsuit against a local contractor for allegedly cheating tornado victims in Joplin, Mo., our of services paid for. According to the lawsuit, the contractor and ABP Quality Construction accepted tens of thousands of dollars in payment and then stopped working on the plaintiffs' homes without completing the work. Mold Lawsuit Against School District Going Forward |
| A circuit judge in Virginia has approved a lawsuit against the Suffolk School board over mold in an elementary school. The lawsuit, filed by a local parent, claims a young boy became very ill while attending the school due to mold allergies, and that school administrators attempted to cover up the moldy conditions. Actress Settles Injury Suit with Law & Order Producers |
| The producers of television show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" have settled a lawsuit with actress Rosie Perez who allegedly suffered serious back and neck injuries while on set in 2009. The actress claims she was "shaken by an extra while shooting an episode for the show," and that the producers were "negligent" for the stunt going wrong. Civil Suit Filed Over Alabama School Shooting |
| An Alabama woman has filed a lawsuit against various Madison, Ala., school officials and the boy who has been accused of fatally shooting her son in 2010. The lawsuit claims school officials and the shooter's parents knew the boy "was a discipline problem and emotionally troubled," and says other students had complained that the boy had brought a gun to school multiple times before the shooting occurred.
