Luxury home builder Toll Brothers, Inc. has agreed to pay $16.2 million to settle a lawsuit accusing officials over misleading shareholders about future company prospects. The suit claimed that in 2004-2005, company officials "convinced investors that the company was uniquely positioned to weather a downturn in the housing market" and made more than $600 million from sales of stock. However, in 2006, management abruptly lowered growth projections to only 0.5 percent, down from 20 percent projections declared in 2005.
