The lawsuit was filed in December by prosecutors from San Francisco and Los Angeles and the most recent claims allege "systemic failures in Uberâ??s background check process." According to the newly-amended lawsuit, Uber allowed registered sex offenders, identity criminals, burglars, a kidnapper and a convicted murderer to drive for the company. The amendments to the lawsuit were filed late Wednesday. Joseph Mayton, The Guardian (US) 08/20/2015 | Read Article: The Guardian (US) | Defendant Pleads Guilty in Webb County Water Trial | | On the fourth day of a criminal trial involving undrinkable water in two border communities, one of the two defendants pleaded guilty to all charges against him. Luis Camacho, who oversaw operations at the Rio Bravo Water Treatment Plant until June 2014, admitted to four felony counts â?? three for tampering with government data and one for engaging in organized criminal activity. On the witness stand, Camacho said he changed numbers on water quality records sent to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to hide the fact that the water produced by the plant didn't meet health standards. He said he did so for years, including during the summer of 2013. But Camacho said he did all of that on strict instructions from Amaya, the former Webb County Water Utilities director and a well-connected Laredo politician. The email was among new evidence Dallas County prosecutors presented against Duntsch at a hearing Friday in which Criminal District Judge Carter Thompson refused to reduce Duntschâ??s $600,000 bail. Prosecutors argued that Duntschâ??s bail should remain high because he could flee Dallas or harm others if free. They also said he could try to apply again for a medical license. Before his arrest, Duntsch was living with his parents and grandparents in Denver.
