U.S. District Judge P.K. Holmes III in Fort Smith, Arkansas, ruled that the three lawyers for USAA and seven attorneys for USAA policyholders who had sued the company had not acted in bad faith when they violated a court rule. The judge, however, imposed sanctions on five other lawyers for the USAA policyholders after concluding the attorneys had acted in bad faith. A faulty spring tab in a side-door latch could break, causing the door not to shut correctly and potentially causing it to swing open while driving, Ford said. The 19-year-old woman died of an ecstasy overdose while at an event at the Los Angeles County fairgrounds last August. Her parents allege in the lawsuit that the event organizers should have known that the Hard Summer event would promote "widespread illegal and illicit activity" and drug use. The lawsuit names as defendants the event organizer, Live Nation, and the venue operator, the Los Angeles County Fair Assn. Rong-Gong Lin II and Richard Winton, LA Times 08/04/2016 | Read Article: LA Times | Texas Hospital Causes Infant Death in Botched Delivery, Lawsuit Alleges | | A Texas hospital is facing a wrongful death lawsuit over the death of an infant in 2014. The Port Arthur hospital was named in the lawsuit over the death of the infant after a botched delivery. According to the lawsuit, doctors using forceps to deliver the baby caused a skull fracture and brain hemorrhaging which later caused the infant's death. The wrongful death lawsuit alleges that doctors should not have used forceps, a method that is being phased out by most medical professionals, to deliver the child.
