Attorneys Says Goldman Sachs Tricked Women into Waiving Right to Sue | | Attorneys for women accusing Goldman Sachs Group of gender bias say the firm tricked them into waiving their right to sue. Plaintiffs in the 14-year legal battle say Goldman let managers make biased pay decisions and denied women opportunities they deserved. The closely-watched case includes of a class of over 3,000 women. They contend that 1,200 of the claims should be removed from the arbitration pool, as the bank waited too long to press for arbitration in some cases and got women to sign improper agreements in exchange for stock awards and other compensation. New York Nurses Union Files Suit Over Working Conditions | | A New York nurses union has filed a lawsuit against the state and two hospitals alleging unsafe working conditions and a lack of protective equipment. The New York State Nurses Association filed suit on Monday against the New York Department of Health and two hospitals, Montefiore Medical Center and Westchester Medical Center. According to the union, the defendants have put nurses' health and safety at risk by failing to provide personal protective equipment and proper training to nurses from other facilities.
