| NFL Pledges $100M for Brain Injury Research |  | The National Football League has made a $100 million pledge intended to support research on head injuries and concussions. The league recently announced that it would create the fund for medical and engineering research to increase protection for players. The pledge comes after the NFL paid a $100 billion settlement to end a lawsuit over players' brain injuries. The lawsuit was filed by about 5,000 players who alleged the NFL hid the dangers of concussions.

| Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Over Fatal Plane Crash | | The son of a New York couple who was killed in a 2014 plane crash has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The couple's aircraft went down off the coast of Jamaica in September 2014 and both the man and woman were killed. The lawsuit was filed against several companies, including the makers of the aircraft. The wrongful death complaint alleges that the defendants were negligent in the design, manufacture, testing and sale of the Socata TBM 900 aircraft.
