Lawsuit Filed Against Crocs, Resort Over Toddler's Escalator Injury |
Shoe manufacturer Crocs is facing a lawsuit by the Texas family of a toddler who had "an extensive section of skin" from his foot torn off when his foot got caught in an escalator. The lawsuit was filed against Crocs and the Waikiki resort where the family was staying when the incident occurred. According to the lawsuit, the Crocs shoes worn by the toddler were "negligently and improperly designed." The lawsuit further alleges that the resort failed to properly maintain the escalator. Judge Rejects Proposed $84M Settlement of Uber Lawsuit |
A federal judge has rejected the settlement of a class action lawsuit against Uber. The lawsuit was filed against Uber by a group of its California and Massachusetts drivers, who allege that they should be classified as employees, rather than independent contractors. The judge rejected the proposed $84 million settlement, stating that "the settlement as a whole as currently structured is not fair, adequate, and reasonable." Trinity Guardrails Probe Reportedly Ends With No Action |
A U.S. attorney's office in Massachusetts has informed Trinity Industries Inc. that the federal government has closed its investigation into the company's ET 2000 and ET Plus guardrail terminal products, the company said in a securities filing Thursday. The company, which is currently battling at the Fifth Circuit a $663 million False Claims Act judgment for allegedly defective guardrails, said Thursday that it fully cooperated with District of Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz's probe.
